A resounding yes! Using your existing vocal structures and with or without the help of HRT, significant voice changes are possible. A lot of people find it difficult to sustain changes in their voice using only free resources online. This is where we come in. With the help of a professional speech therapist, you can more easily and sustainably make meaningful changes to your voice.

While services are customized to meet your individual needs, we typically begin with a comprehensive evaluation and goal setting, then address a whole host of areas such as vocal range expansion, resonance, intonation, articulation, nonverbal communication, and developing vocal confidence in a variety of contexts.

We see trans and gender-diverse folx who reside anywhere in the state of California for both voice feminization and masculinization. All of our sessions are held virtually for your convenience. Whether you’re looking for support with a particular skill or you’re starting from scratch with your voice transition, we can help you meet your goals – all voices are welcome here.

While each person’s journey is unique, after our initial discussion and goal setting, the typical course of voice training is 10 to 12 weeks of 50-minute weekly telehealth sessions with a licensed speech therapist. A daily home program helps you reinforce new skills and accelerate progress toward your voice goals.

Some insurers may provide coverage for vocal dysphoria treatment. We don’t work directly with insurance but can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance plan.

They are! We hold weekly virtual small group sessions led by a licensed speech therapist. These 90-minute small group sessions are an affordable option and offer the chance to practice your new voice in a safe, supportive and fun setting. Group sessions are great for refining your skills in a more natural and social context.

This is a personal choice that’s entirely up to you. Often, when someone is exclusively using their new voice, their old voice tends to become harder to access over time.

In addition to establishing a new voice, it’s also possible you may be interested in continuing to use your existing voice in some settings. We will talk this through together and incorporate your specific needs into your unique goals and care plan.
